Our founding mission site is still our largest! We've been catechizing and educating in NYC's northernmost borough, the Bronx, for over a decade. Seton Teaching Fellows share the Gospel and serve as Christ the teacher to thousands of students at our founding charter school network. NYC boasts a vibrant Catholic community of intentional lay and religious, and our Fellows are serving at the heart of it all!
STF expanded to the Queen City back in 2020. We partnered with the Archdiocese to manage a network of Catholic schools in Cincinnati's Price Hill neighborhood. Fellows have breathed fresh life into west-side Catholic schools and parishes with quality academics and a vibrant display of faith and charity. We're opening another Catholic academy in the area this year, and STF alums are leading the expansion alongside Cohort 10!
Down in the Rio Grande Valley, our newest partnership is bringing a holistic blend of classical education, dual-language instruction, and Catholic catechesis to the south-west. We're excited to help revitalize catechesis and intentionally minister in the diocese of Brownsville, which holds the second-highest rate of Catholicity—over 85%—in the United States.
Since the 1960's, over one-thousand U.S. Catholic schools have shut down every decade. Parishes and schools have struggled to remain open and catechize in our most impoverished neighborhoods. Believing that all children deserve to know the love of God and the truth of the Catholic faith, we founded a radical and sustainable model providing Catholic education and formation to underserved families who desire it the most!
